Change the World – Join the UESI Moment
Christianity was the greatest movement in history. It spread rapidly as people recognised its truth and gave their lives to its power. That movement continues today, and we are called to take part in it. UESI is one such dynamic movement in India that has the mandate to touch and build student leaders across the nation.
University students are the future of our nation. They seek to bring life and hope to colleges, workplaces, cities, and nations. UESI is called to mentor and invest in them, shaping leaders of character, competence, ethics, and excellence. In this lies India’s future. Margaret Mead’s statement that “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has” is true of the UESI movement. For UESI to remain vibrant and relevant today, five essential elements—modelled in Jesus’ missionary ministry—must be upheld.
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” said Mahatma Gandhi. Be the change and bring the change in the world. Challenge your boundaries. Challenge your world view.
White-hot faith: strongly rooted in God’s Word and fuelled by a burning passion for God and His righteousness. Don’t be lukewarm.
Commitment to the cause: lifelong journey fully committed to Kingdom purposes. Have a ‘higher calling’ and a ‘higher level of commitment’.
Contagious relationships: UESI is all about consciously building one another and uplifting one another through vibrant and joyful relationships. Place people above projects and profit.
Rapid mobilization: involvement in mission with readiness, speed and urgency. There can be no place for complacency and slothfulness.
Adoptive methods: While the gospel remains unchanged, methods must adapt to context and technology. In the age of Industry 5.0 and social media, UESI must be adaptive, innovative, and willing to change.
We need to build many young and energetic leaders like Jemimah Rodrigues, who directed her gratitude heavenward after her historic innings of 127 off 134 balls at the women’s world cup semi-finals on Oct 30, 2025 at Navi Mumbai. With tears swelling in her eyes, she said boldly, “Firstly, I want to thank Jesus because I couldn’t do this on my own. I know He carried me through today”.
Our goal is a vibrant UESI, with EUs in at least 1,000 colleges and universities, including IITs and IIMs. We pray that thousands of students, graduates, staff and prayer partners will join us to make this a reality. Together, we can and we will.
In the new year, may God’s abundant grace and power transform your life, family, and the world. Come. Let’s change the world. Join the UESI movement.
