Ready for Exploits?

Can an EU student do exploits? Will they be able to shoulder responsibilities where the senior graduates’ help is minimal? Can students who are just out of college come together and lead a small group of students to organize a business meeting like a Zonal AGM / Conference?

The answer is YES! This is what happened in Gangtok, Sikkim where a handful of Students and 4 young graduates joined hands with the Staff family and hosted the North East Zonal conference last month.
Over the past year these students (who have just passed out and taken up jobs) have, prayed together, shared responsibilities, accumulated their leave and planned for hosting the gathering! A few students had to write their exams on Monday too!

The EU is only a functioning EU and yet to go for affiliation! They have not attended many Zonal or National UESI programmes and their exposure to UESI is limited. No ‘experienced’ graduates’ guided them. No money in their hands to invest! No State EGF Committee to oversee and back there up too!
Yet, their love and passion for God, their humility and preparedness to do any work, their willingness to join hands with the staff family to walk extra mile to ensure the comfort of the participants made the Zonal Conference a memorable one indeed!

Also, their willingness to invest their available resources finally resulted in the Sikkim contribution overtaking the Conference Registration fees that came from other 7 NE States!! Miracle indeed! Their passion so moved even the local Church leaders that they opened up the Church for conducting the event. Even after the conference was over, everyone could see them bubbling with joy and contentment, without any symptom of exhaustion or looking for recognition.

When they all gathered the next day for a time of prayer and review, we could realize that they are a wonderful group of students and graduates blessed with humility and gratitude! As a result the Sikkim EGF was born on that day! Thus fulfilling the longstanding dream of having state EGF in all the states. Sikkim became the 30th and the last State in India to have the State EGF!! PRAISE GOD!

When King Saul told David, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine (Goliath) and fight him; You are only a boy and he has been a fighting man from his youth”, David confidently replied:“Your Servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine (Goliath) will be like one of them, because he defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of the Philistine.”(I Samuel 17: 33,36)

Students! The Lord wants you to lead and conquer! UESI needs students who will depend on God alone and involve in the ministry with all humility and love. When God called the prophet Jeremiah, his immediate response was: “I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.” God told him: “Do not say, I am only a child. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.” (Jeremiah 1:6,7)

Graduates and Staff! Our fear and apprehensions about Students – lack of maturity, too young to take up responsibilities, too difficult to handle – these should not stop us from empowering them. Sikkim model is before us today!
