By God’s grace, SPEC (State Planning and Evaluation Cell) Orientation Program was held successfully at UESI Student Centre, Ranchi from 1-2nd Sep, 2018. This is a milestone in the history of JEGF, since this was the first time such a program was organized. Altogether there were 5 students, 6 graduates and 3 staffs participated in this program which included SPEC Committee Members and JEGF Committee Members. Bro. J. Selvadurai was the resource person.
The main sessions in the program were Planning Basics, P & E function in UESI, SPEC functioning, UESI Planning Cycle, Formation of SPEC, Implementation Strategies, SPEC’s Role in the State Committee and Regional Committees, guidelines for Evaluation and Qualitative Parameters etc. The sessions helped us to learn the importance of SPEC in state, it’s role and responsibilities, and how SPEC can help in the growth of ministry to reach its full potential. We also learnt the necessary steps of planning and implementation, the road-map to decentralization of Jharkhand EGF. There was enough time given to ponder over lack of development of ministry in our state.
Further the sessions were made more interesting with creative and innovative games viz. picture game, counselling activity, blind followers game and rope game. These games helped us to learn the necessary qualities of a leader as an individual or as a committee in the ministry.
Bro. Mohan Suresh Kumar, Staff of WB was also with us and helped students to integrate faith and academics. He also took one session with the title “We and Our Ministry” and guided us to set the right priorities to be more effective in the ministry.
We are grateful to the Almighty God and thank the OPEC for guiding us in the right direction through this program in order to fulfil the vision of UESI.
