Student Leaders from different units with zeal and the thirst to know more about God and His word thronged at the Pine Brook Centre Shillong to attend Committee Members Training Camp from 24th May to 7th June, 2017. We were 47 campers (20 girls and 27 boys including two young graduates) representing Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, West Bengal, and Bhutan (three students participated for three days). We were divided into 7 groups and vibrantly participated in all the activities. God protected us from all illness or any other problems throughout the camp. The campers meticulously learnt the doctrinal basis of UESI, Bible Study Skills, Quiet Time and leadership aspect from the UESI handbook by our graduates and staff workers who sacrificed their precious time. Students learnt to live as a effective student leader in the campus and as a testimony to the Christian faith, through Practical Talks and Devotions.
On Sunday, we visited two local churches where we presented a group song and briefly shared about our ministry. We had a refreshing time when we went on a picnic to Cherrapunji visiting the Arwah Cave, Nohkalikai Falls and Eco Park. On 4th June, we had a Quiet Day having switched off all our gadgets. Each of us had an enlightening experience in our time alone with God in a noisy world. On the last night, a memorable candle light dinner was served by the Resource Team and seniors. The Feet-Washing event just before our final sharing was a gesture of humility and love from the seniors modelling for us. The camp ended on 7th June with a hearty lunch together. The Camp was a life changing experience for me personally.
