CMTC Bhimtal was a long awaited event for many. One of the participant commented: “I wanted to attend the CMTC in the last year itself. So I was praying and preparing for the same.” CMTC Bhimtal was conducted during 15th to 29th of June at Bhimtal, Uttarakhand. 20 participants from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh gave a unique feel of diversity. We had chain prayer for 105 days. Prayer partners from various parts of our nation were upholding this camp.

We had a variety of sessions to cater to the need of the students. Commenting on the doctrine session one student said, “Here I could get a clear understanding about doctrine and why study it”. One student said “though I knew UESI ministry from my childhood only here I could fully understand the working pattern of UESI”. “Studying Bible systematically was a unique experience” said a student. “Taking group Bible study gave confidence to take Bible study”. “God challenged me to ensure successive leadership in my area” commented a student on devotion. “God challenged me to be a minister among students through the exposition of 2 Timothy” said another student. One student said “the session on Excelling in Studies helped me to know my priorities and how and where I have to focus”.

Informal time like group activities, 2 by 2, picnic and games were also very useful for students. We could observe quiet day where many students said they could have a personal encounter with God in a fresh way. We could have a unique privilege to have a Sunday service in the banks of Sattal Lake. Banquet session on the last night served as a surprise for students and they were challenged by the servanthood of resource people.

We went on a picnic to Nainital. Apart from enjoyment we also could do flash mob holding placards singing songs and distributing hand written tracts. This came as a great motivator for students to involve in creative evangelism in their EUs. Even without a session on giving students with their own initiative collected Rs. 3750 and handed over to the camp treasurer which surprised the resource people. Planning for picnic and other activities served as in-service training on committee functioning.

Students made decisions like being regular in Bible study, doing personal evangelism, starting EUs in their own colleges, going as missionary students, tent makers and as staff workers. I thank God for all the mighty works God has done through CMTC Bhimtal.

After effects of CMTC:
“I am doing my quiet time regularly. Sometimes I do meditation with some of my friends. I do PBS once in a week. I could share the Gospel to 2 girls”
“After coming from CMTC I could take one group Bible study in my city. I am preparing with others for organising evangelistic camp next month”
“I could conduct an evangelistic retreat at my home.”

Benalin, CMTC Bhimtal Director
